Trustees and staff at Te Karaka Foundation are delighted to establish a strong strategic partnership with Craigs Investment Partners (CIP) New Plymouth branch that will benefit our community for the long-term.

A long-time supporter of communities across the country, Craigs Investment Partners has developed a thoughtful giving programme with Community Foundations of NZ that is both unique and strategic in nature.

There are three key components to their Community Giving Program;

  • Christmas Giving,
  • a community ‘endowment’ fund, and
  • employee ‘Workplace Giving’.

These initiatives are the start of a broader community & sustainability program.

Philanthropy NZ CE, Sue McCabe, welcomes the partnership “It’s great to see corporates being thoughtful about how to support the communities they operate in.”

Last December Craigs reallocated the money that has traditionally been spent on client gifts to charitable donations. They knew that money saved is going to people and organisations in the Taranaki region that need our ongoing help more than Christmas presents.

On behalf of the Craigs New Plymouth branch Giving Committee, Te Karaka Foundation is pleased to distribute $5,500 to the Taranaki community organisations: Women’s Refuge, Riding for the Disabled Taranaki, Kids Can – Taranaki Kids, Little Fighters, Taranaki Retreat and Rodrique Hope.

We hope that the CIP Community Giving Programme will encourage many other businesses in Taranaki to facilitate a workplace giving program within their company.
