Born and educated in New Plymouth, Sandy has worked as a medical radiographer in New Zealand, Australia and the UK and in industrial non-destructive testing (NDT) in the oil and gas industry in Taranaki. She is probably best known having run a successful real estate business in New Plymouth for 29 years, and her contribution as President, Vice President and an executive member of the Taranaki Real Estate Institute for many of those years.
Sandy has also served on numerous boards and been involved in community organisations including school PTAs, Soroptimists International, Taranaki Rhododendron Group, WEA, TTOM Trust for accommodation for mental health clients and the Taranaki Real Estate Education Trust.
Married to Peter, Sandy is a mother to four adult sons and a grandmother to five delightful grandchildren.
Now retired from paid work, Sandy remains active in the community utilising her extensive governance experience and love of people to give back to groups and organisations she cares about.
