Kelvin retired from his role as Principal of Stratford Primary in 2013, after 40 years in principalships in both the North and South Islands. He currently has a small independent Education Consultancy working with school leaders throughout Taranaki.
Kelvin is an Associate of the New Zealand Educational Institute and Life Member of the New Zealand Principals’ Federation, having been National President in 2003-2004. Kelvin is in his third term as a Stratford District Councillor and is a trustee of both the Stratford Community House and the Te Wera Outdoor Recreational Trust.
Kelvin’s turangawaewae is Christchurch however along with his wife Carolyn and son Leon, he now considers Stratford-Whakaahurangi as home.
