We are pleased to present the results Te Karaka Foundation has achieved since our inception in 2014 and public launch in 2015. Awareness of Te Karaka’s role as Taranaki’s community foundation has grown – it is now easy for local donors to leave a lasting legacy for the Taranaki community, and for charitable organisations to build a long-term fund to help secure their financial future.
Te Karaka Foundation is very grateful for the ongoing support we receive from The Tindall Foundation and the TSB Community Trust, and from a range of local businesses. Their contributions towards Te Karaka’s operating costs are much appreciated, and have enabled Te Karaka to build a strong foundation to support the Taranaki community.
The Board of Trustees and Chief Executive of Te Karaka Foundation present their Annual Report including Financial Statements and Statement of Service Performance of the Foundation for the year ended 30 June 2019. The nature of Te Karaka Foundation business has not changed during the year under review.
We had another successful year of operation: received over $845,000 of endowment donations; gifted Taranaki community over $210,000 in grants thanks to the generosity of Taranaki people and The Tindall Foundation; hosted the Celebration of Generosity in the Taranaki Region function featuring Sir Stephen Tindall as a guest speaker and reported over $1,852,000 of living giving pledged and received funds.
To our donors, supporters, and volunteers, we THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts.
Our major highlight since our public launch in June 2016 has been able to gift more than $142,000 in grants to the community thanks to the generosity of Taranaki people and the Tindall Foundation, who have entrusted us with the role of Local Allocation Committee for their distributions to the Taranaki area.
In our second full year of operation, we have grown the awareness of Te Karaka Foundation and worked with the community to deliver funding that will help Taranaki thrive now and for generations to come.
Te Karaka Foundation had a successful first full year of operation, with the highlight being our public launch on 2 June 2016 featuring Sir Stephen Tindall as guest speaker, and the announcement of over $700,000 in donations received or promised.
